Architecture for Humanity hosted the 2011 Open Architecture Challenge – [un]restricted access – a design competition that meant re-envision the future of decommissioned military spaces. In 2012 the results of the competition were presented at La Biennale in Venice in an installation called "The Bunker". Open Architecture Venice received 2013 Architecture for Humanity Design Award / Pragmatic Optimism for the job well done.
